About Us

You'll feel right at home at Dry Hollow Ranch. The Ranch Goddess and her team want you to enjoy your stay with us and have the opportunity to kick back and relax while we take care of everything. You will be served delicious, ranch-cooked meals, mostly prepared by the Ranch Goddess herself, and My Oh My, can she cook!

Our lodge, sparkling new from the ground up, completed in the Fall of 2011 (with swimming pool and spa completed July 2012), provides all the modern conveniences you would expect of an upscale lodge including:

• Fully-equipped and modern kitchen with large "Come and Get It" serving and drinking island.
• Texas, and beyond, Gourmet Ranch-Style cooking. (Sometimes she likes to show off.)
• Satellite TV with big screen LCD's in every room.
• Washer and dryer.
• High Speed (sortta...) WIFI Internet.
• Queen-sized beds, outfitted for comfort.
• Texas-sized loft with poker table, wet bar, big screen TV, and full bath with shower.
• Three full bathrooms, all new, tiled, clean and modern, with spacious, rain-head-equipped showers (no tubs here).
• Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with a view "all the way to El Paso".

Our lodge can sleep up to 10 people, but unless requested, we will book no more than four to six guests at a time to provide for a more relaxed and personalized experience. In the winter, we will keep a warm fire burning in the fireplace for you and your hunting companions to sit in front of and swap lies and rant over the cooking skills of the Ranch Goddess (she really likes this).

We want your stay at Dry Hollow Ranch to be fun AND relaxing. We are determined to create a hospitable and welcoming environment, leaving you counting the days until your next visit to Dry Hollow Ranch.

Kathy Simmons (Ranch Goddess)

Kathy is indeed a rare woman, the likes of which you have never met. She is a life-long avid hunter, having hunted in Africa, Costa Rica and throughout the United States. She knows first hand what it takes to make a hunt successful because she has "been there and done that". Kathy never meets a stranger and will swap lies with the best of you. Her cooking is out of this world and she knows how hunters like to eat. She can make a pretty good cocktail too.

But don't be fooled by her charm, grace and pretty face. Kathy is a crackerjack business woman, having created and is currently managing four businesses including a Medical Spa, and a Home Health Care service employing more than 100 caregivers and nurses. And oh, by the way, Kathy also is a Registered Nurse, so if you have a cut or bruise while at Dry Hollow Ranch, she knows which band-aid to use. Plus, she is an Aggie!

Mike Simmons (Ranch Dog)

Mike is a bit of an odd duck here at Dry Hollow Ranch. You see, he's not a hunter...but he is quickly learning the difference between a buck and a doe. Mike is a thirty-year veteran of the oil and gas industry, having specialized in the buying and selling of offshore drilling rigs worldwide, as well as various roles advising mutual funds, hedge funds and private individuals on investments.

Mike runs the "business end" of Dry Hollow Ranch and brings fresh eyes to the operation of the ranch with a view to enhance the experience of every guest at Dry Hollow Ranch. He is a partner, and is the worker bee and point man behind business development and event creation. Mike is also an '80 Aggie. Mike and Kathy were married on their birthday, September 16!
